Refraction
Through the interplay of glass, water and reflected light, organic forms are fragmented and reassembled. The work invites a closer look at the shifting boundary between what is seen and what is perceived.
A study of quiet transformation
Refraction explores the transformative qualities of glass, water and light. The vessel functions as both container and optical device, bending and reshaping the stems it holds. Rich crimson tones contrast with luminous reflections, creating a layered composition in which observation and abstraction coexist. The familiar subject becomes an investigation of perception, structure and colour.
Through layered tones and careful observation, the painting invites the viewer to pause and notice the subtle poetry of familiar spaces.
