Afternoon Light
An ordinary interior is distilled into a study of light, geometry and atmosphere. Architectural forms and everyday objects are arranged within a composition where stillness emerges through simplicity and observation.
A study of quiet structure and interior light
Afternoon Light explores the quiet transformation of an ordinary domestic space through light and observation. A staircase, a tiled partition and a collection of everyday objects are reduced to a composition of planes, lines and subtle tonal shifts. The large triangular field of light becomes the true subject of the painting, creating a sense of stillness that invites prolonged attention. Through careful simplification, the familiar is transformed into an image of balance, calm and contemplation.
